Urban Dreams, an award-winning human service agency in the heart of the River Bend area of Des Moines, is seeking qualified people to work part time, with full time potential, with area youth and families.
Bachelor’s degree in a social sciences field and 1 year of qualifying experience. (20 hours of training in mental health assessments and treatment of children with mental health needs may be substituted for the experience requirement.)
Bachelor’s degree in a field other than social sciences and 2 years of qualifying experience. (30 hours of training in mental health assessments and treatment of children with mental health needs may be substituted for the experience requirement.)
The position also requires a valid Iowa driver’s license, current auto insurance, a good driving record, and the ability to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history and checks of the Dependent Adult Abuse, Child Abuse, and Sex Offender registries.
Good oral and written communications skills and computer literacy.
Previous, not necessarily professional, experience with the population served is preferred

The position involves direct service work with a client population that consists predominantly of low income and minority youth and families in an urban setting.
Provide professional behavioral health intervention services pursuant to treatment plans, thoroughly and accurately document the work done, participate in regularly scheduled supervision meetings with program supervisors, and perform such other duties as may be necessary to fulfill program objectives.
Compensation based on education and experience.
